Tuerk House is the community and behavioral health provider that never stops at “good enough.” We go the extra mile for our patients and their loved ones, creating real, lasting well‑being in the communities we serve. As we grow—expanding locations, broadening services, and stepping in wherever healthcare falls short—we pour our time, talent, and heart into closing the gaps.
The result is simple and powerful: healthier people with more life ahead of them. And that’s the greatest gift we can offer the individuals and families who trust us with their care.
Healthcare that accepts people for exactly who they are without judgment. High-quality services and treatment that are delivered regardless of a patient’s insurance. Uplifting programs that give people a second chance at life. Medical environments that are not only warm and inviting but also filled with best-in-class technology, tools, and resources. With your support, we can offer all this and more to our patients, because it’s what they deserve.
When patients came to us for addiction treatment services, but presented co-occurring medical conditions—such as COPD, heart disease, HepC, type 2 diabetes, and HIV—and behavioral health disorders—including ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, and schizophrenia—we acted. Tuerk House transitioned from solely addiction treatment to offering community and behavioral health services to those in need.
While other healthcare systems require scheduled appointments to be seen, Tuerk House accepts walk-in appointments to ensure people’s health needs are met immediately. In fact, walk-ins are the biggest form of patient intake at Tuerk House.
When there are new social determinants of health that are causing barriers to care for patients, we partner with likeminded organizations to make a bigger difference. Our collaborative efforts with our partners allow us to connect our patients to all the services, resources, and tools they need to lead their healthiest lives.
“I can’t speak for anyone else, but Tuerk House saved my life. I did the 28-days program and then the 6-month program. After that, I still was not ready to be in society, so I was transferred to the Weisman-Kaplan House. Now, I am a substance abuse counselor giving back what was so graciously given to me.”
“When it comes to Tuerk House’s pharmacy and community health services, I always have what I need. They are quick and when I don’t have my copay, they still give me my meds and allow me to bring it in the next day. They are great and I have no problems at all.”
“When I came to Tuerk House, I was desperately searching for a way to change the cycle I placed myself in. I called Tuerk House expecting to be placed on a waiting list. Thankfully when they picked up the phone, I was told to come in that Saturday.”
“When it comes to Tuerk House’s pharmacy and community health services, they are very friendly and always happy. I am grateful for having a pharmacy near my home.”
“Working at Tuerk House has been one of the most meaningful experiences and chapters of my life. It has given me the foundation and job security I needed to truly build my life. With the support of my supervisor, I was able to obtain my Certified Peer Recovery Specialist certificate, and from day one, the guidance I received from our Director, Mrs. Diaz, has been tremendous.”
“Tuerk House’s pharmacy and community health services are wonderful.”
“I have no complaints about Tuerk House’s pharmacy and community health services. They are great. They always call me when my medicine is ready.”
“I was a resident for treatment at Tuerk House in 1999 and came back as a peer recovery coach over 15 years later. I applied for the position due to my sympathy and empathy of giving back what was freely given to me.”
